About

William “Bill” Lauritsen

I am a retired CPA and have a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Rutgers University. After working in New Jersey as an accountant, I joined the U.S. Department of State and served as the Finance Officer at several Embassies overseas in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean, South Asia and Australia. Since most of my career has involved fund management, I think this more than qualifies me to understand Lincoln’s funding situation. In addition, my first job in accounting was with a small CPA firm where I worked on a city municipal audit as well as many small business accounts.

I have lived in Lincoln for three years. I am a member of Lincoln’s Economic Development Committee and Lincoln’s Economic Vitality Committee. Due to my involvement with these committees, I understand Lincoln and its business environment. If elected, I plan to serve the interests of the residents of Lincoln as well as the 4th district. My main goal is to improve City services by working with the county to increase Lincoln’s share of tax dollars.
